Technology Group
We experiment, design, and lead a 24×7 global business where we support core capabilities in asset management, trading, investment operations, and risk management. We deliver secure, reliable, and integrated solutions, and provide insights on new and emerging technologies.

Infrastructure Team
You will help to build and sustain strong technology foundations forming the bedrock of GIC’s digital solutions.

What will you do as an AVP, Cloud Engineer?

1. Enable Cloud Native transformation strategy and roadmap.
2. Enable the next iteration of GIC’s cloud strategy by planning and executing against the vision for an agile organization that leverages cloud native to take full advantage of cloud computing.
3. Communicate the case for and benefits of increased cloud native adoption to senior stakeholders, business units, and business solution teams.
4. Proactively keep updated on AWS/Azure updates and propose, design, and implement changes to our cloud systems.
5. Create and track roadmaps for the rationalization and modernization of applications to just-right cloud services, platform, and architecture within our hybrid cloud ecosystem.
6. Measure and track progress of GIC’s cloud strategy through the development of effective Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
7. Enable Cloud Centre of Practice and Excellence.
8. Champion and exemplify cloud native practices, including cloud native philosophy, architecture, principles, and culture.
9. Participate in product management for emerging cloud native services and platforms.
10. Define and implement cloud reference architecture, standards, and processes within the enterprise.
11. Perform cloud governance role in disciplines like identity & access management, security & compliance, and billing.
12. Provide common tooling, solutions, and patterns for cloud native adoption and developer enablement.
13. Assist application and developer teams to onboard applications to hybrid cloud services and platforms.
14. Provide education and learning opportunities to enable teams to understand existing and emerging cloud computing technologies.
15. Deliver Cloud Engineering and Operations.
16. Implement a set of technologies, on top of cloud service provider(s), to consolidate institutional knowledge, tooling, patterns, and practices.
17. Provision cloud services to developer teams based on pre-stipulated service level agreements.
18. Manage the maintenance of virtual appliances and cloud operations disciplines.
19. Steward cloud spend and budget, including optimization and management of reserved instances.
20. Manage support vendor partnerships through regular vendor stewardship meetings.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

1. At least 7 years of relevant experience in delivering hybrid cloud strategies.
2. Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
3. Some return-on-investment and business case development experience.
4. Strong communication abilities to influence key stakeholders.
5. Proven track record of delivering cloud applications on Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
6. Proven experience in designing microservices and event-driven architecture.
7. Extensive experience in architecting applications and automation technologies.
8. Hands-on experience with cloud technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
9. Strong understanding of Infrastructure and Platform Automation technology products.
10. Strong understanding of AGILE, and Product Management methodology.
11. Strong understanding of industry technology standards, and security & compliance frameworks.
12. One or more AWS/Azure Certifications at Professional and/or Specialty level.
