Job description
Business Function: As an Asian leader in treasury operations, DBS Global Financial Markets (GFM) extends a broad range of capabilities ranging from trading, structuring and sales in foreign exchange, interest rates, money market, credit, equity, commodities, bonds, derivatives and securities. Responsibilities: Management of GFM build programs (initiatives and business enhancements)
Driving end-to-end GFM build programs (consisting of initiatives and enhancements) on digital and business transformation, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency as well as controls and risk management for the achievement of the target business outcomes.
Engaging the GFM Business Desks for development of business ideas, preparation of the scope, deliverables, timelines and budget. In addition, establishing the business case and obtaining the necessary approvals to commence the execution.
Liaising with the business sponsor, product owner and other stakeholders to establish priorities for delivery. Form the necessary program structure, organisation and workstreams.
Establishing and maintaining the project plan. Ensure that implementation actions, issues (‘blockers’) and risks are identified and effectively addressed.
Ensuring that key project artifacts are maintained throughout the initiative lifecycle such as implementation plans, status reports, risk and issue logs etc.
Reporting to Platform Governance Board (PGB), Project Steering Committees and Management on project milestones status as well as topics for executive decision or escalation.
Work with vendors and service providers for new contractual services as part of build initiatives. Engage in contractual negotiations and facilitate vendor evaluation and selection processes.
GFM Build Platform Management and Administration:
Reporting on build activities (initiatives / enhancements) to the GFM Platform Governing Boards and GFM Platform Transformation Council (PTC).
Coordination of budgeting activities between Business Desks and GFM Tech teams involving Singapore and all of GFM regional offices for initiatives and enhancements to be done in the following year.
Facilitate yearly refresh of Platform Value Maps (and targets); report on actual Platform achievements against Value Map targets.
Collate enhancement funding requests and assist to obtain necessary DOA approvals.
Preparation of Trading platform information to GFM Platform Transformation Council (Co-chaired by Head of GFM and Head of ITT).
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in a credible Strategy / Management Consulting firm or in a Business Management / COO role, or related role in Tech and Ops at a major bank or financial institution.
Familiar and confident in managing multiple large-scale international projects, preferably for a major bank or financial institution. You have held accountable roles for end-to-end execution of the projects.
Possess working knowledge and familiarity with trading/treasury products, system applications and end-to-end processes.
Proficient with all standard MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
A certification in project management and/or Agile (Product Owner or Scrum Master) methodologies would be advantageous.
Confident in presentations to senior management and to various stakeholders.
A self-starter who is solution-oriented and data driven.
