Automation Engineer - Ship Management System (Marine)

Responsibilities:

• Responsible in ship automation related equipment design, platform equipment integration and its interface with the Ship Management System (SMS), and to platform system equipment related control and monitoring logic, which includes basic and detail design :
  • SMS architecture
  • Generate I/O list, SMS electrical diagram and I/O termination diagrams
  • Platform system automation design, system control and monitoring
  • Perform integration of third party equipment / system with SMS
  • Generate control console design and control panel arrangement drawings
  • Generate control room arrangement layout drawings
  • Generate sea trial test protocol for SMS in accordance with Classification Society requirement
• Responsible for function requirement design, safety and surveillance related systems, such as:
  • Propulsion control system (PCS)
  • Power management System (PMS) function specification
  • Dynamic positioning system
  • CCTV system
  • Fire Detection System
• Update ship automation related equipment into AVEVA model
• Review vendors' technical proposal to ensure solution meets the functional requirement
• Responsible for ensuring the Contractual technical requirement and Classification requirement of automation related design are fulfilled and within project schedule.
• Liaise with client and other internal engineering trades for project coordination.
• Attend technical review and meetings with client and vendors during project execution to ensure requirement are fulfilled, technical solutions are discussed and technical issues resolved.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of Marine Electronics and Automation systems
• Knowledge in computer networking, control instrumentation and control system design
• Knowledge of standard communication protocols like Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, RS422, RS485, NEMA, CANbus, J1939
• Knowledge in Autocad, Naviswork, AVEVA Marine 3D software
• Good Interpersonal Skills, problem solving skills and is a team player.
• Good time management and able to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronic or any related engineering field
• Minimum 2 years working experience in Automation or Marine/offshore Industry

• Location: 16 Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)
• 5 days work week
• Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm
