Responsibilities
Live studio direct News & Current Affairs programmes in both automated and traditional galleries. Content is not limited to broadcast content. May be required to support digital from time to time.
This position is responsible for the execution of live studio programming using a Vizrt Mosart Automation system. The responsibilities include but are not limited to using studio equipment to build effects and templates for coding and execution of studio shows via Octopus rundowns.
Co-ordinate the planning and production of News and Current Affairs programmes output to ensure that editorial intentions are met, and highest production standards maintained. The individual will be equipped with the right skills and new/developing tools to deliver high quality production.
Set the direction and work with studio crew on duties on the requirements to facilitate and execute an error-free studio production.
Work primarily in the studio but occasionally will be needed in the field for outdoor news broadcast.
In the fast paced nature of news, the individual is required to provide guidance to the studio and production crew on the last minute changes and issues that may happen during production.
Enforce the compliance to the Error Tracking System from both the production and maintenance team.
Qualifications
Minimum Diploma in relevant discipline.
At least 2 years in production, preferably studio/live production but other production acceptable as well.
Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment and able to react to changes and situations in a calm and collected manner, without supervision.
Multitasking is required in the role as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Proficient in planning, organising and communicating to manage multiple issues that may occur during production as well as the stakeholders from various teams. Required to have an eye for detail and ability to make decisions under pressure.
Experience with studio production with a strong understanding of studio equipment, including switchers and audio board will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in the English language and at least one other language (Chinese, Tamil or Malay) would be an added advantage to understand the language of the programmes.
A good team player and must be willing to work nights, on irregular shifts including weekends and public holidays.
