Job description

The Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) drives systems transformation to add years of healthy life to the communities we serve. CHI aims to transform health by delivering greater value at the care level; enabling health and social change for population health at the systems level; and empowering sustainable healthcare at the ecosystem level.

Reporting to the Director, CHI Management Office, the Assistant / Manager (Business & Finance Analyst) will help to drive the financial strategy, analytics, and data-driven decision-making to support CHI’s mission of transforming healthcare through innovation. Combining deep financial expertise with advanced business intelligence capabilities, the Analyst will help to shape the budgeting strategy, optimise financial resources, and provide the leadership team with actionable insights to achieve organizational objectives.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Strategy and Resource Optimization

  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial and budgeting strategies to support CHI workplans and its organizational goals.
  • Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with the centre’s strategic objectives.
  • Financial evaluation of innovation projects and programmes, including cost-benefit analyses and Return-On-Investment (ROI) tracking and modelling.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization strategies while balancing the centre’s innovation objectives.

Advanced Business Intelligence and Data Analytics

    • Design and implement frameworks, criteria, and registers to monitor and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for CHI projects and programmes.
    • Development of interactive dashboards and predictive models using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
    • Analyse financial and operational data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities for strategic decision-making.
    • Provide scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to guide decision-making in forecasting the scaling and spreading of innovation projects and programmes.

Strategic Planning and Insight Generation

  • Partner with CHI leadership team to develop data-informed strategies that drive operational efficiency and innovation.
  • Deliver strategic insights and recommendations through data visualization and storytelling techniques.
  • Monitor the financial health and performance of CHI, ensuring financial sustainability and agility.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue generation that leverage on our current projects and programmes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate with the CHI teams to align financial and business strategies and workplans.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and financial literacy across CHI.

Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all institutional financial regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Establish robust controls and processes for financial reporting, budgeting, and data governance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate financial and operational risks to safeguard CHI’s reputation and standing.

Innovation in Tools and Practices

  • Continuously improve data and financial workflows and reporting processes to maintain accuracy and agility.
  • Stay updated on industry trends in healthcare finance and business intelligence, leveraging best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support CHI’s initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MFin, or similar) is strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial strategy, business intelligence, or related roles, preferably in a healthcare or innovation-focused organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading financial planning and data analytics initiatives with measurable impact.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analytics, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
  • Expertise in data storytelling, turning complex datasets into actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare finance, innovation funding, and business models is preferred
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
