Associate Scientist, Product Development (1 year contract)

Major Responsibilities:

1. Conduct formulations and production process development under supervision for new or line-extension product, particularly for Liquid product formulations.
2. Work on formulation and process where starting manufacturing process and formula exist. Assist in new development procedures under supervision.
3. Assist bench, scale-up, plant trial, and manufacturing of product and process.
4. Manufacturing support and troubleshooting for formulation and process.
5. Assist product and process design, project planning, critical success criteria and manufacturing systems.
6. Assist operations lab scale product development equipment (spray dryer, evaporator, UHT, CIP, Dry Blender and Packaging).
7. Support plant/supply chain on scale-up development projects.
8. Conduct ingredient, packaging and process qualifications and validation studies and issue recommendations.
9. Assist manufacturing instructions preparation. Monitor shelf-life studies and provide technical justifications for the shelf-life.
10. Assist documentation to support product registration and First Lot to Stock commercialization completed.
11. Direct own daily activities to meet project deliverables and priorities.
12. Document experiment, results and observation in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze data, formulate conclusion and write report. Able to make sound technical recommendations to cross-functions.
13. Comply with all applicable safety, quality, and AN policies and procedures.
14. Support and perform feasibility and optimization studies through lab or pilot scale studies, particularly in area of Liquid formulations.
15. Design and conduct advanced independent and multidisciplinary technology transfer and application developments.
16. Provide technical direction to projects, resolve technical challenges related to product, process and technology systems.
17. Apply advanced technology and manufacturing knowledge to projects and manufacturing efficiency.
18. Support regulatory certificates, methods, and compliance requirements to manufacture for the destination market.
19. Execute assigned projects with pre-defined scope and goals.
20. Receive direction and work details of a project to be performed.
21. Be responsible for experiment and documentation accuracy within assigned time.
22. Successfully summarize data.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Food Science/Chemistry/Life Science or related disciplines.
2. Minimum 1 year experience research/product development in nutrition/food industry. Fresh graduates with prior related internship experience are welcomed to apply.
3. Basic knowledge of food and nutrition science and technology principles and applications.
4. Fluency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
5. Troubleshooting and resolve/recommend.
6. Must have excellent communications skills with the ability to interface with management at all levels.
7. Strong presentation and communications skills to cross-functional teams and management.
8. Demonstrated ability to assess and synthesize scientific data.
9. Some travel may be required.
10. Strong interpersonal and writing skills with attention to details.
11. Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.
12. Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks and prioritize workload.
