The Division of Accounting runs the most established and well-regarded accountancy programme in Singapore and the region, with a long tradition of training professional accountants for leadership roles such as partners in accounting firms, chief financial officers of major corporations and managing directors of companies. The Division delivers a variety of accounting courses in the undergraduate and Masters programmes. These courses are designed to equip students with relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to become effective and ethically responsible accounting professionals and business leaders.

QualificationsQualified candidates must have a terminal degree in their field of study. Candidates should also have at least 10 years of industry experience as well as an excellent practice-track record. As this position is specifically for teaching and applied research needs of the Accounting division, candidates should have strong and relevant industry and academic experience. This experience should be demonstrated through teaching feedback from tertiary institutions, publicly available outputs (e.g., teaching blogs, webinars), by giving teaching demonstrations or similar evidence of teaching effectiveness. There must also be evidence of service and some scholarship in the form of, but not limited to, good quality publications, book chapters, written cases, pedagogical research, etc. Knowledge of analytics tools, programming languages (e.g., R, SAS, or Python), statistical software, and their applications to accounting will be essential for the area of Data Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence for Accounting and Auditing, and preferable for the areas of Sustainability Reporting and Management, and Financial Reporting.
Associate Professors (Practice) are expected to excel at teaching, and service, work closely with students, and contribute to practice-based research, programme development and campus life. Candidates must also have relevant accounting related industry experience and a good network that can link NBS with the industry. Initial appointment term is generally for three years.
RemunerationSuccessful candidates will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with their qualifications and experience.
