Job description

Job Summary

  • To assist RMs based in Singapore of the GSAC Team in identifying, negotiating and closing Credit facilities to PvB Clients and Prospects, while ensuring the further development of the Credit product offering. Ultimately, the target is to position SC Private Bank as a leader in the structured Credit area in the region.
  • Credit transactions are those secured by concentrated collateral and mainly include mortgages. They could be booked in any SCB booking centre, mainly Singapore or Jersey. The role includes also assisting the PvB RMs located offshore and who are willing to book a loan in Dubai.
  • Quality of relationship with CPBB locally (Risk, Compliance, Legal, Credit Ops, Product) is a critical success factor.

Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Responsibilities include bringing in an understanding to new joiners & provide refresher trainings to colleagues of the various systems & product offerings appropriate to the role.

Business

  • Originate and risk-manage credit structures secured by different asset types including equities, fixed income, funds, real estate and other financial securities.
  • Meet clients and tailor credit solutions based on clients needs and bank's risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with frontline, other support functions, business partners, and product specialists to deliver One Bank and provide effective client solutions.
  • Support the delivery of the Private Bank business short and longer term objectives.
  • Coach and provide guidance to RMs on all credit-related matters.
  • Act as a sparring partner and point of liaison for Credit Risk team and Front Office.

Processes

  • Support RMs in the credit process and perform tasks as per Global LST Engagement DOI.
  • Get involved and lead some of the development as part of the credit process upgrades.

People & Talent

  • Lead through example by managing the expectations of Clients & RMs by working in collaboration with Credit risk and Operations - GBS.
  • Ensure to provide training and development to new RM / CSM Team.
  • To keep the Team informed of the changes in Regulation & product Offering (where applicable).
  • Responsibility to review Financial goals.

Risk Management

  • Responsibilities relating to identifying, assessing & submitting quality applications so as to ensure it is within the Banks framework.
  • Act as the bridge between RM (Business) & SCM (Credit Risk).
  • Manage the End to End process for transactions related to Class III in Dubai.

Governance

  • Managing Risk and Compliance as part of my role: Take personal responsibility for understanding the Risk and Compliance requirements of my role.
  • Understand and comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Groups policies, procedures and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve Risk and Compliance matters. Contribute to a culture in which all stakeholders feel safe to raise concerns and where Risk and Compliance matters are addressed, and misconduct appropriately dealt with.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Assist the PvB team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles.

  • Market Head PvB, UAE.

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group's brand and values in UAE / PvB / Lending Solutions Team; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats).

Our Ideal Candidate

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree from a reputable university.
  • 4+ years within the banking or financial sector.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and excel skills.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Self-starter and is able to execute assignments independently with ability to interact directly with clients for day-to-day matters.
  • A team player with strong social skills; highly adaptable.
