General Job Requirements:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance - APAC GFS, this position will be leading the Source to Settle (STS) & Order to Cash (OTC) team in the management and delivery of STS & OTC services for the Asian region including Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Japan and Australia/New Zealand.
STS processes include but are not limited to handling supplier’s onboarding requests, PO administration, supplier invoice processing, employees’ expense claims, Corporate Card handling, payment processing, month-end processes for APAC markets.
OTC processes include but are not limited to Customer and Credit Maintenance, Cash Application, Debt Collection, Credit review, Order Management, month-end processes for APAC markets.
Position Specific Job Requirements:
- Provide functional leadership and champion the GFS Visions.
- Contribute to the development of the GFS culture to attain desired goals which will include efficiency and effectiveness targets.
- Establish strong personal credibility with the market finance team and build a strong relationship with stakeholders.
- Recruit, retain, motivate, performance manage and develop staff to operate the STS and OTC processes.
- Manage, train, and provide guidance and direction to the team and AP/AR Users; and the Customer Services and Finance teams in market.
- Manage the overall process effectively, reporting KPI’s and enhancing and streamlining the effectiveness of the process.
- Work closely with internal business partners and external vendors to improve the current payroll business processes.
- Recommend changes in processes and/or policies that identify and utilize technologies that will provide efficiencies.
- Contribute to global project and process reviews including managing SAP process and supporting the roll-out of SAP implementations and upgrades.
- Ensure that all standards in the service partnership agreements are consistently met and key performance indicators are achieved.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and adherence to all internal controls as required for SOX and compliance.
- Lead and manage STS/OTC teams to drive efficiencies and support a scalable model in the future.
- Support month-end close process and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Support the GL accounting team in the completion of statutory compliance function and liaise with internal and external auditors.
Knowledge, experience, competencies:
- 10 years+ relevant experience in a multi-national environment (experience in financial shared services a must).
- Knowledge of the Biotech or pharmaceutical industry including market regulation and compliance would serve as a distinct advantage.
- Accounting/ Finance / Business degree or MBA.
- ACA/ACCA/CPA qualification is preferred - Big 4 or similar practice accounting background a distinct advantage.
- People management experience preferable.
- Must have a good understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- SOX Compliance experience.
- Experience in Oracle & SAP preferred.
- Strong Excel proficiency.
- Established experience preferably within a Multinational Company.
- Be a self-starter and able to act on own initiative.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to be detail-oriented.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, working under pressure and to meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written, presentational).
- Project Management skills and experience desirable.
- Demonstrates teamwork and collaborative approach to work.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English a prerequisite, Japanese and Korean language skills a plus.
