Associate Director/Director, People & Culture

We are seeking a Strategic HR Business Partner to support our data centre business (Nxera) by leading critical workforce planning, talent development, and team-building initiatives. A key focus of the role will be building young talent pipelines, upskilling talent through the AI Data Centre Academy, and driving effective HR programs across Digital Infrastructure Co (DICo), including budgeting, performance calibration, and remuneration. The ideal candidate will align HR strategies with business needs, manage complex programs, and build a future-ready workforce in digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Workforce Planning

  • Lead end-to-end workforce planning to ensure the right talent support Nxera’s expansion and operational demands.
  • Assess current and future workforce needs, identify critical skill gaps, develop and implement strategies to address them.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to design scalable organizational structures to support rapid growth.

Talent Acquisition & Team Building

  • Design and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent across technical, operational, and leadership roles.
  • Build strong talent pipelines by leveraging partnerships with educational institutions, industry associations, and specialized recruitment channels.
  • Lead team-building initiatives that foster collaboration, engagement, and high performance across diverse, technical teams.
  • Drive the young talent strategy, expand pipelines through internships, work-study programs, and Management Associate Programs.
  • Oversee the Sustainable AI DC Academy to design and deliver upskilling and reskilling programs for data centre operations.
  • Partner with technical experts to develop competency frameworks and learning pathways aligned with industry best practices.

Employee Engagement & Retention

  • Launch engagement initiatives to boost retention, ensuring employees have clear development paths and growth opportunities.
  • Coach and support managers on building high-performing teams and positive employee experiences.
  • Design and manage career progression frameworks to support long-term employee development and succession planning.

Organizational Development & Change Management

  • Support organizational change initiatives, including expansion projects, operational shifts, and digital transformation.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts to build a diverse, future-ready workforce.
  • Use HR analytics to measure the effectiveness of talent strategies and continuously improve HR programs.

Coordination of HR Programs Across DICo

  • Lead and coordinate key HR programs across DICo, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Manage talent management cycles, including performance calibration, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Lead remuneration and budgeting exercises, providing market insights and ensuring competitive compensation frameworks.
  • Collaborate with HR CoEs to execute annual performance management processes, aligning business performance outcomes with individual contributions.

The ideal candidates should have/be:

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience as a strategic HR Business Partner, and experience managing a fast-growing business is preferred.
  • Expertise in the IT & ICT industry is a plus.
  • An advanced degree in business or a related field, with professional certification from IHRP, SHRM, or other relevant associations.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with organizational design and other HR-related expertise.
  • Confidence and effectiveness in building relationships and managing stakeholders.
  • Project management experience to drive process improvements and enhance customer experience.
