About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Institutional Marketing (Academic market) leading the APAC Research Field Marketing team, the Field Marketing Director will be the lead in driving all marketing strategies and programs in the APAC region to achieve the business objectives.
The Field Marketing Director will have a good understanding of scientific publishing or related industry, a strong digital marketing background with experience in leading a marketing team to achieve commercial impact. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, especially the APAC Institutional Sales team, to drive new business growth and support retention efforts in this market. They will be accountable for creating and influencing sales opportunities through marketing campaigns to drive new business, cross-sell, and up-sell. They will build the strategy, framework, and plan for the field marketing team, in alignment with the overall strategy of the Global Institutional Marketing team.
How you will make an impact:
- Own the overall marketing strategy and plan for the APAC market
- Sales target and pipeline analysis for marketing program strategy
- Adapt strategies at the local level to achieve global objectives
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate the marketing functions against key metrics. Achieve ROI goals for marketing investment and track new opportunities and customers and the contribution of these to the bottom line for the business.
- Partner across the sales organization to align on goals and strategies.
- Lead the team to strategize, design and execute programs for retention and new business.
- Create a strategy for Account-Based marketing across all territories.
- Define strategies to inform campaign execution including campaign objectives, segmentation, channel plan and campaign assets creation (content, email templates, landing pages, banners, social media posts etc.).
- Create efficiencies in programs across all territories.
- Set targets and track KPIs to ensure the marketing programs are impacting the business and sales goals.
- Lead collaboration with sales and product marketing to develop go-to market strategies from lead generation through sales closing. Ensure excellent post-sales customer care.
- Regular reviews of performance and train, coach and develop team members.
- Participate in the development of the annual budget and adhere to departmental expense budget.
- Partner with sales, global enterprise marketing, EMEA and Americas field teams, product marketing to ensure goals are aligned and your team is creating programs that align to shared goals.
What we are looking for:
- At least 10+ years of field and digital marketing experience preferably in scientific publishing or related industry
- At least 5 years experience leading teams
- The ability to collaborate, build relationships, and drive results across teams (including remote colleagues) and at all levels of an organization.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze & interpret metrics around marketing performance to understand the marketing to sales pipeline funnel
- Ability to work and deliver to a deadline with high quality work
- Ability to lead a team to achieve goals
- Strong communication skills
- Enjoy working in a diverse team
- Good understanding of sales and marketing principles
- Experienced user of sales CRM systems e.g. Salesforce
- Travel required
