Our Culture

Bridgewater's unique success is the direct result of our unique way of being. We want an idea meritocracy in which meaningful work and meaningful relationships are pursued through radical truth and radical transparency. We require people to be extremely open, air disagreements, test each other's logic, and view discovering mistakes and weaknesses as a good thing that leads to improvement and innovation. It is by continually striving together for the highest levels of truth and excellence that we create meaningful work and meaningful relationships. Within this culture, Diversity and Inclusion is a top priority because it is essential to finding the best talent in the world, enabling our idea meritocracy, and creating an environment where all types of people can thrive.

About Bridgewater's Singapore Office

As part of our ongoing partnership in the Asia Pacific region, we opened a Bridgewater office in Singapore in 2022. The initial focus of that office will be to deepen our ability to partner with our clients and prospective clients in the region. In line with Bridgewater's overall mission to grow and diversify our business, our strategic goal is to capitalize on growing commercial opportunities in Asia and further deepen our ability to partner with existing institutional clients and drive new market development with prospective clients as well as advisory and distribution relationships in the region.

About the Client Service Department

The goal of Client Service is to build and grow meaningful relationships with the world's largest, most sophisticated investors and help prospective clients achieve their goals through high quality return streams and tailored insights. To this end, we deeply understand the global pools of capital, develop strategies to effectively develop relationships, and partner with prospective clients on their most difficult investment and portfolio construction problems.

About Your Role

As an Associate, Business Development, you'll help the Client Service Department achieve our mission by ensuring prospective clients receive exceptional service. You will be the 'air traffic controller' of your team, responsible for a variety of administrative, operational and project management activities, serving a large number of prospective investors. You will help set goals, brainstorm execution, project manage multiple initiatives, coordinate directly with clients/prospects and internal stakeholders, be the first point of contact for investor requests, and plan meetings, trips and events.

Without the Associate, the team doesn't run. Associates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and great at time management. They must communicate professionally, enjoy problem solving, and thrive in a dynamic, relationship-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with various Marketers (senior relationship managers) within our Singapore Office to understand marketing goals and translate the business plan into an organized operational cadence for the team, including providing administrative and calendar support.
  • Provide high quality and professional client service, acting as the first point of contact for all incoming client/prospect inquiries via email or phone.
  • Distill information and synthesize the key points to the team and other relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate tasks, activities, and collaboration sessions to meet prospective clients' needs from visualization to scheduling.
  • Drive execution, provide direction, and project manage initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
  • Facilitate synchronization and communication across the team, by tracking and reporting on the status of key activities and keeping knowledge repositories up to date (i.e. CRM).
  • Ensure team and key stakeholders are prepared for all client/prospect interactions (i.e. presentations, prep notes, technology).
  • Coordinate logistics for prospective clients and team, including travel strategy, events, and presentation materials.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems efficiently and independently.
  • Work with other teams on projects to improve departmental operations.

You will be a fit for the role if you:
  • Are a team player who can learn quickly and proactively seek to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Are a 'big picture' thinker who is able to focus on the goal at hand, not only tasks.
  • Distill information, prioritize well, and summarize key points for senior leaders.
  • Enjoy solving problems using logic and common sense to develop practical solutions.
  • Have the ability to orchestrate and prioritize multiple activities at once while maintaining high quality work.
  • Hold a high standard for excellent client/customer service and desire to help others.
  • Are willing and able to anticipate the needs and concerns of others.
  • Have a preference for interpersonal interactions and are unafraid to engage with others.
  • Value the pursuit of truth and excellence.
  • Demonstrate innate curiosity and a tendency to thrive on learning new things.
  • Are dedicated to self-improvement and improvement of others.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A high degree of proficiency in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; general comfort with learning and using new software tools.
  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic record preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or a professional business environment is a plus, though not required.
  • Language requirement: This role communicates regularly with our Westport, CT, US office. Fluency in English and strong written communication skills are required.
  • Language preferences: Our clients communicate in Mandarin and Malay. The ability to read and converse in Mandarin is preferred. Conversational Malay is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • For most of our roles, Bridgewater offers remote work flexibility, with most employees required to work on campus as their principal work location, a minimum of 2-3 days per week with the option to work offsite on other days. Bridgewater's Singapore Office is located in the Central Business District.
  • This role will require occasional communication with our Westport, CT office, which may require you to take calls and/or be responsive to email outside of standard work hours. This may include early morning (7am SGT) or late evening (8-10pm SGT) due to time differences.
  • Flexibility of working hours is required.

Compensation:
  • The wage range for this role is S$91,000 - S$131,500 inclusive of base salary and discretionary bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 80-90% of this wage range.

Why Choose Bridgewater?

It takes all types to make Bridgewater great. We seek a diverse group of innovative thinkers and push them to engage in rigorous and thoughtful inquiry. We develop people through an honest examination of their abilities and performance, enabling personal growth and professional development. We strive to provide you opportunities that will challenge you and unlock your potential.

In this role, you will grow with us by:
  • Taking ownership of team operations processes and cadences.
  • Taking on mentorship and leadership responsibilities to grow talent as you gain experience.
  • Opportunities to grow your career across Bridgewater depending on your strengths, weaknesses, and experience.

Benefits:
  • Health insurance, including vision and dental coverage, with 100% of premiums paid for by Bridgewater.
  • Global telemedicine access (24/7 access to licensed doctors).
  • Paid time off, including fully paid parental leave and a competitive PTO package.
  • An engaged and active community that includes many company events, affinity networks, and extracurricular interest groups.
