AIGF Advisors Pte. Ltd. (AIGF) is a Singapore-based private equity (PE) firm sponsored by Mitsubishi Corporation. We are seeking an associate to lead collaboration with clients and investors from ASEAN and Japan to drive value creation in both existing and prospective portfolio companies within the AIGF Fund, ensuring alignment with global headquarters’ strategic objectives and compliance with corporate governance standards.
With the significant increase in Japanese companies expanding into Southeast Asia, our core mission is to deliver high-quality intangible services that meet our publicly listed clients' expectations within tight deadlines. This position is essential and continually required to provide globally satisfying corporate advisory services, enabling our listed clients to make informed decisions on corporate ventures and investments in the region. In this highly responsible role, the successful candidate will not only fulfill daily tasks in valuation and investment analysis but also excel in high-stakes, urgent matters. These include negotiations between buy-side, sell-side, and other stakeholders; developing a post-merger integration plan to enhance due diligence findings; and securing necessary stakeholder approvals. Job Description - Details
- Valuation and Investment Analysis: Oversee valuation analyses using advanced methodologies and financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, preparing investment committee memorandums for executive review to prepare and deliver complex financial presentations that meet senior management/board of directors and stakeholder standards.
- M&A: Working on sell-side, buy-side and other structural deals in all stages of execution. You will be actively involved in execution of cross-border structural deals with a Southeast Asian angle, being either for Southeast Asian clients or for Japanese clients with interest in Southeast Asia in deal value of US100 million.
- Presentation Development and Enhancement: Develop and present materials for meetings with potential target companies and stakeholders including our company's management & limited partners, internal strategy sessions, investor reporting, and fundraising, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and meeting stakeholder expectations.
- Fund Raising: Communicate closely with the potential LP investors in ASEAN and Japan, and assist their onboarding on the company's fund raising process, which will be accelerated in FY2025.
- Opportunity Identification and Assessment: Collaborate closely with the investment team to identify and assess new investment opportunities in ASEAN and Japan, overseeing research and analysis of target companies.
- Portfolio Management Oversight: Direct portfolio management activities, including conducting financial modeling, performance analysis, fund reporting, and implementing strategic initiatives to drive continuous growth.
- Corporate Governance: Act as a liaison to Mitsubishi Corporation, supporting managerial tasks related to corporate governance requirements and ensuring alignment with corporate policies.
- General Duties: Perform any other duties as required, contributing to the team’s overall objectives and performance.
Job Requirements
- More than 3 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or asset management, specializing in portfolio management, financial modeling, and corporate compliance in an overseas subsidiary of a global listed company.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in the investment banking division or a similar department within a multi-national trading company is required. This role requires effectively communicating investment decisions and performance outcomes to limited partners—including corporate investors and financial institutions such as Mitsubishi Corporation, CIMB, and the Development Bank of Japan—while demonstrating both financial expertise and a solid understanding of business management practices within a trading company environment.
- More than 3 years of comprehensive experience in performing valuation analysis using multiple methodologies, including income, market, and cost approaches. Skilled in financial modeling to assess and promote investment opportunities and in producing top-tier investment committee memorandums that meet industry high-class standards.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing strategic private equity funds with an Assets under Management (AuM) of at least USD 100 million.
- Experience handling cross-border finance projects.
- Deep understanding of all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the common code of conduct regarding information security of financial sectors.
- Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders globally, ideally including clients or investors from ASEAN and Japan, with the ability to communicate effectively across cultures and align diverse perspectives with corporate strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional investment team, adapt to fast-paced environments, and handle multiple priorities effectively.
