About the Department
The Corporate Sustainability Office oversees and drives UOB's sustainability strategy and roadmap, aligned to the Bank's vision and embedded in the business strategy. It ensures that the sustainability strategy pillars and objectives are operationalised and implemented through actionable and measurable plans and initiatives by functions across the Group.
Job Responsibilities
The Corporate Sustainability team's responsibilities include:
collaborating with corporate functions on the development and implementation of relevant sustainability frameworks, policies, procedures and initiatives to drive the achievement of corporate sustainability targets; co-owning the operational decarbonisation strategy for the Group together with Corporate Real Estate Services; leading training programmes to deepen awareness and understanding of sustainability across the Group; and acting as Group Sustainability Committee (GSC) Secretariat. The main responsibilities of this role will include:
guiding corporate functions on the integration of the Group's sustainability strategy and co-creating of sustainability roadmaps and solutions; establishing and advising corporate functions on sustainability frameworks, policies and procedures and collaborating to track performance and progress; conducting regular benchmarking and keeping abreast of evolving trends and regulations; performing Secretariat duties for the GSC, including supporting associated GSC Working Groups; and leading efforts to develop sustainability capabilities across the Group.
Job Requirements
Recognised university degree with at least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in corporate sustainability strategy and/or execution; Experience developing and establishing sustainability policies, frameworks and procedures at Group level; Familiarity with sustainability standards and disclosures, key sustainability issues, best practices as well as relevant external stakeholders and ecosystem partners; Comfortable working consultatively with multiple teams and ability to engage stakeholders across all levels to design, build, evaluate, support and improve a range of programmes and initiatives; Ability to multi-task and work on diverse projects simultaneously in an ambiguous environment; Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and structured manner; and Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently.
