Assistant Store Manager (Jewel Changi Airport, Games, 3 years contract)

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and conscientious Assistant Store Manager. In this role, you will be supporting the Store Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day store operations, foster an exceptional customer experience, and optimize the overall store performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with Store Manager in daily store operations including customer service, inventory control, visual merchandising, and brand promotion.
  • Open and close the store during shifts and oversee daily operations to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Coordinate with relevant team members for effective task handovers to maintain operational continuity.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and ensure sales targets are achieved or exceeded.
  • Oversee and maintain visual presentation standards to optimize customer engagement.
  • Analyze consumer behavior and suggest improvements to product placement, sales strategies, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

Leadership & Staff Development:

  • Supervise, motivate, and mentor the store staff to deliver high performance and meet store objectives.
  • Ensure staff are well-trained in product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards, with a specific focus on the unique offerings of our client.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager in identifying staffing needs and overseeing in-house training programs.
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives to foster a positive and productive team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards, including health and safety regulations and loss prevention protocols.

Customer Service:

  • Lead by example to provide exceptional customer service and maintain high customer satisfaction levels across the team.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the customers and employees within the store premises.
  • Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner and escalate to the Store Manager if required.
  • Take ownership of various operational tasks, including inventory control, staffing management, in-store events, and social media management whenever required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Store Manager related to the role.

Job Requirements:

  • Have a Diploma/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration/Retail/Logistics, or any related field, and/or minimum 3 to 5 years of proven experience in retail management, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, serving as a role model for the team.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage the staff and collaborate with upper management.
  • Proven conflict management skills to resolve customer issues effectively and ensure efficiency for the internal team.
  • Good time management and organizational skills to ensure tasks deadlines are met.
  • Experience in recruitment and performance evaluation processes.
  • A team player: ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Having a passion and interest in our client's brand and merchandise.
  • Proficiency in English language is mandatory to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Competency in working with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Flexibility to work in various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SAP ByDesign or similar programs will be advantageous.
