The School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) was established to drive the expansion of NUS’ lifelong learning offerings in a concerted and strategic way that furthers our mission to be a leading global university, as well as fulfil our role as a public university of Singapore, shaping the future.

Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals. All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.

About the Role

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join us as Assistant Senior Manager/ Manager (Programme Quality Audit).

Reporting to the Associate Director, the incumbent would be instrumental in assisting in a range of administrative duties that would be needed to execute in an efficient and effective manner to support the smooth functioning of the unit.

Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with an annual variable bonus which is subject to the incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies. The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Propose and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures for auditing programme quality, ensuring alignment with the various quality standards within NUS and external stakeholders.
  • Design and implement audit plans that define scope, objectives, and methodologies for assessing programme effectiveness.
  • Conduct audits to assess adherence to established quality standards (eg. TPQA), policies, and procedures.
  • Document audit findings, identify areas of non-compliance, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Follow-up and monitor the progress of corrective actions and ensure timely and effective resolution of identified issues.
  • Prepare and present reports to SCALE deanery and senior management on compliance activities, findings, and remedial actions taken.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to address identified risks and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement by sharing best practices and promoting a culture of compliance.
  • Provide coordination and liaison with external regulatory agencies, auditors, and accreditation bodies to facilitate compliance reviews and audits for NUS.

Requirements:

Academic & Professional Certification

  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputable university, preferably in arts & social sciences, and business administration.
  • ISO Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor Qualification and experience will be an added advantage.
  • IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) desirable.

Experience & Attributes

  • At least 5-8 years of working experience in either educational administration or course quality management, preferably at a tertiary education institution or private education institution.
  • Experience in managing education programme audits (e.g., Edutrust, TPQA).
  • Good process management skills; excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of SSG regulatory will be an added advantage.
  • Dynamic and self-motivated individual who is a system thinker.
  • Meticulous, systematic, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
