Assistant Senior Finance / Finance Manager (FP&A)

Job Description

Provide financial advice and guidance to NUS's Administrative departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Finance business partner to provide finance leadership and guidance to NUS administrative departments.
2. Acts as finance business advisor in the departments' cross-functional and/or strategic projects/initiatives, including system development and implementation activities.
3. Provide financial advice and work proactively with departments to achieve both financial and business goals.
4. Budget submission, allocation and management reporting.
5. Analysis of information to provide business insights to support decision making and drive performance in business.
6. Conduct regular reviews of department finance records such as debtors aging, balance sheet GLs, dormant accounts, etc. to ensure validity and accuracy.
7. Liaise with shared services teams on accounting issues.
8. Lead team of support staff to provide Central Controllership services on project account setup and general ledger activities.
9. Approver roles for:

1. Finance master data such as requests for WBS / Grant Master creation and closure etc.;
2. Update of WBS master records such as FM assignments;
3. Budget transfers.

Qualifications

1. Possess a recognized degree in Accountancy, CPA/CA preferred.
2. 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience. Working experience in an auditing firm will be an advantage.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of SAP S4 HANA.
4. Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and strong interpersonal skills.
5. High level of independence as well as the maturity and ability to work with staff at all levels.
