Job description

To ensure guests feel safe and secure in our hotel, appropriate security levels are necessary. As Assistant Security Manager, you’ll be implementing safety and security policies in accordance with IHG standards – emphasizing the need to remain alert at all times. By allowing guests to feel safe, it encourages repeat visits. You will assist in the security operations and ensure there is enough coverage from the Security Team to manage activities in the hotel.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  1. Reporting to the Manager all hotel property deficiencies and safety or security hazards
  2. Monitoring staff clocking on and off duty
  3. Conducting regular locker checks with Human Resources
  4. Conducting training for security officers, hotel colleagues, and random checks of key registers in various departments and reporting on discrepancies
  5. Checking all packages and passes of employees entering and leaving the building
  6. Managing the team including training, coaching, counseling, disciplining, quarterly check-in, yearly review, etc.
  7. Identifying and training talents for promotion
  8. Liaising and contacting vendors
  9. Administering efficient roster planning and scheduling
  10. Being responsible for the safety and security of guests and employees
  11. Implementing procedures and initiating action immediately for security and emergency incidents
  12. Being thoroughly familiar with and guided by the hotel’s emergency plan in any case of fire outbreak
  13. Maintaining a vigilant 24-hour surveillance on areas frequented by guests and all work areas
  14. Ensuring no undesirables loiter in or around the hotel premises
  15. Preventing gambling and sabotage on hotel premises
  16. Assisting superiors in the preparation and management of the department’s budget and being aware of financial targets
  17. Liaising with other departments for security matters whenever necessary

What we need from you?

  1. Minimum ‘O’ Levels or equivalent
  2. Security License and relevant WSQ Training Certificate
  3. Minimum 2 years of related work experience
