The Assistant Quality Manager ensures product conforms to our customers’ requirements and assists with responding to customer concerns related to product quality in order to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes.
Area(s) of Responsibility
Perform final quality control (QC) checks on inspected product to ensure it conforms to our customers’ requirements
Coordinate with other departments to properly disposition nonconforming or suspect product
Assist with responding to customer concerns related to product quality
Essential Functions
Review inspection results and, as needed, perform supplemental inspections on product to determine acceptability of product
Document results of final QC checks in Velocity’s ERP system
Communicate inspection findings to the Purchasing and Sales teams and advise on the actions necessary to resolve issues (if applicable)
Consult with the Problem Shelf Coordinator to determine acceptability of proposed problem resolutions
Coordinate with the Operations Manager to ensure Inspectors are performing inspections to standard
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Traits
Required
4-year college degree
1+ years of performing inspections on electronic components with demonstrated ability to make correct conformance decisions
Preferred
1+ years conducting final quality control checks of components
Knowledge
Expert product knowledge
Familiar with complex ERP systems
Understanding of basic math, including percentages and tolerances
Basic photography and photo editing

Working Environment
This position works in Velocity’s Inspection and Distribution Center, a hybrid laboratory/warehouse environment. Most work is performed in an Electrostatic Protected Area (EPA).
Personnel must wear protective smocks and grounding footwear inside the EPA
Traffic through the IDC includes electric lift trucks
Some inspections include:
X-ray equipment
Hot surfaces
Solvents
Some products contain small amounts of toxic materials (e.g. lead-based solder)
This position may require travel, including internationally.
