Assistant Purchasing / Procurement Manager (Heavy Machinery / Industrial)

• Working day: Monday to Friday
• Working hours: 8am to 5.10pm

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic:

• Conduct spend analysis to support sourcing strategies and annual planning.
• Research market trends, suppliers, products, and commodities.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives in procurement.
• Help develop and implement Group Procurement strategies, policies, and initiatives.
• Contribute to procurement planning processes.
• Manage and oversee procurement activities.
• Ensure divisional SOPs align with GPPA and maintain compliance.
• Drive capability development and knowledge sharing.

Operation:

• Conduct tenders according to Division SOP/GPPA and provide recommendations to the Tender Committee.
• Identify cost-saving, efficiency, and risk mitigation opportunities in sourcing projects.
• Manage supplier classification, relationships, and contracts.
• Work with stakeholders to manage and optimize spend.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
• Monitor key suppliers and develop risk mitigation plans.
• Analyze demand, inventory trends, and optimize procurement.
• Drive procurement digitalization and automation to lower Total Cost of Ownership.

Responsible Sourcing:

• Conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with ethical, social, and environmental standards.
• Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement.
• Work with internal teams to integrate responsible sourcing practices into procurement.
• Provide training on responsible sourcing to employees, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Prepare reports on responsible sourcing performance and progress.
• Drive continuous improvement in responsible sourcing by collaborating with suppliers and teams.

Job Requirements:

• Possess minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with minimum 5 years relevant working experience
• Experience on spend analysis and contract management is an advantage
