Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Programme Coordinator to join our team and support impactful initiatives focused on improving the lives of migrant workers. The successful candidate will play a vital role in overseeing the operations of Community Law Centres and related programs, fostering partnerships, and ensuring the efficient delivery of services. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, making a meaningful difference in the community.

The duties of the Assistant Programme Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following:

Operational Management

  • Overseeing and managing the operations of the Community Law Centres and clinics for the migrant worker population.
  • Attending to enquiries and walk-ins.
  • Scheduling of interviews.
  • Data management and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Developing and cultivating good relationships with partners and volunteers for our migrant worker initiatives.
  • Providing overall support and assistance for the Community Law Centres including but not limited to scheduling, attendance tracking, collating feedback and submitting relevant reports.
  • Managing programme risk, quality and compliance.
  • Contributing to the design and implementation frameworks to assess impact of legal programs, policies and initiatives.
  • Determining applicant and volunteer needs and profile.
  • Monitoring and managing budgets associated with the Community Law Centres.
  • Building and maintaining strong interdepartmental relationships, fostering a culture of collaboration and support.
  • Providing secretarial and administrative assistance to Migrant Workers Legal Assistance Committee, Migrant Workers Group, Content Management Committee, and any other teams or committees associated with the initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting the Programme Manager in minute-taking, actioning workplans, following up on next-steps and ensuring adherence to the budget.

Requirements

  • Degree in social work, social sciences, public administration, law, business and marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Passion for pro bono and community work, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of migrant workers.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a related field with migrant workers or vulnerable groups.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, strong administrative and project management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and meticulous with attention to details.
  • Enjoys a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
