Assistant Operation Manager

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Operation Manager to support our business expansion efforts in the dredging and marine industry. The role involves assisting with market research, client engagement, proposal preparation, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations and the achievement of business development goals.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring dredging operations to meet project objectives and timelines.
• Coordinate with vessel crews, engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth execution of operations.
• Oversee daily operations and address operational challenges promptly.
• Ensure that all dredging activities comply with local and international maritime laws and environmental regulations.
• Promote and enforce safety procedures on-site and onboard vessels.
• Conduct safety drills and maintain safety documentation.
• Monitor the utilization of equipment, vessels, and other resources to optimize productivity.
• Assist in managing inventory, including spare parts, tools, and materials.
• Coordinate with procurement teams for timely acquisition of operational supplies.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
• Prepare and maintain operational reports, logs, and project documentation.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular updates to the Operations Manager.
• Supervise and provide guidance to vessel crew and operational staff.
• Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
• Identify and resolve technical and logistical issues during operations.
• Provide innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Assist in monitoring operational budgets and controlling expenses.
• Provide input for cost estimates and financial planning for projects.

Job Requirement:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
• Proven experience in marine dredging or maritime operations (minimum 3-5 years preferred).
• Strong understanding of dredging techniques, equipment, and vessel operations.
• Familiarity with maritime laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and operational management software.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in dynamic and challenging environments.

Working Conditions:

• Office-based with frequent travel to project sites and onboard vessels.
• May require extended hours or on-call availability during project-critical phases.
