Are you ready to shape the future of Singapore's media landscape? The Media Industry Cluster (MIC) at Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) is looking for a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager/Manager to join our Business Development and Marketing team. In this role, you will optimise the monetisation and distribution of Singapore's media content, spanning films, episodic series, online content, and games. You will drive business development, build and grow international partnerships, and lead B2B marketing efforts for major local and international media and trade events.

Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

  1. Lead Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement: Oversee and manage marketing communications and stakeholder engagement for the Singapore Media Festival (SMF) and its four key pillars: Asian TV Forum & Market, Singapore International Film Festival, Singapore Comic Con, and Nas Summit Asia. Ensure alignment with IMDA’s strategic objectives.
  2. Understand and address the unique marketing, programming, and operational needs of each pillar, positioning SMF as a strategic lever that advances Singapore's media interests on the global stage.
  3. Develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns, to support filmmakers in achieving international recognition.
  4. Conceptualise and pitch impactful media angles, ensuring consistent, aligned, and effective messaging across all SMF initiatives and campaigns.
  5. Design and produce sales and marketing assets to showcase SG’s catalogue at international markets, improving visibility and opportunities for SG talent and content.
  6. Champion a strong, cohesive voice for SG’s media industry, aligning with IMDA's overarching strategic goals and promoting Singapore as a hub for media innovation and excellence.
  7. Oversee and manage IMDA “Made-with-SG” social media accounts.

Event Management and Business Development

  1. Event and Campaign Management: Success in managing large-scale events and marketing campaigns in the media industry, with a focus on driving engagement and measurable outcomes.
  2. Leadership and Project Management: Strong leadership and project management skills, adept at managing multiple stakeholders, timelines, and complex projects to successful completion.
  3. Strategic Marketing Implementation: Develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives for local and international trade events, supporting SG companies and talent in securing high-impact collaborations and partnerships.
  4. Distribution Channel Optimisation: Identify and optimise distribution channels for SG media talent and content, ensuring maximum reach and commercial success in both local and international markets.
  5. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with international screen agencies, sales agents, advertisers, and distributors, leveraging these connections to drive business growth and strategic partnerships.
  6. Global Outreach and Partnerships: Actively pursue and develop international outreach and partnership opportunities, staying aligned with global trends and content distribution strategies to position Singapore as a key player in the media industry.
  7. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilise data-driven insights to inform and refine marketing strategies and business development decisions.
  8. Understand the Media Landscape: Possess a thorough understanding of the local and regional media landscape, with the ability to navigate industry dynamics and capitalise on emerging opportunities.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the media or entertainment industry.
  2. 6-10 years of experience in media and marketing; experience in the local or regional media industry is advantageous.
  3. In-depth knowledge of international media markets and content distribution strategies.
  4. Possesses strong business development expertise and a deep understanding of the local and regional media landscape, capable of cultivating and managing relationships with sales agents and industry stakeholders to drive strategic partnerships and growth opportunities.
  5. Track record of executing high-impact marketing campaigns and managing high-profile events.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and manage successful partnerships.
  7. Proficiency in data analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  8. Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems.
  9. Strategic thinking with a focus on driving business growth and innovation.
  10. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changing market conditions and business needs.
