Assistant Manager/ Manager, A*StartCentral, Venture Creation & Growth, Innovation & Enterprise

A*StartCentral (A*SC) is A*STAR's open innovation platform for deep-tech startups. A*SC includes physical centre(s) and programmes to grow global deep-tech startups. We are seeking a team player to partake in developing and implementing venture building programmes for deep-tech startups. Personnel must have an interest in nurturing founders for deep-tech startups and go-to-market strategies. The personnel should have an acumen for partnership and entrepreneurship to commercialize deep-technology.

Prospective candidates must have prior experience in managing a life science lab and an interest in venture building or entrepreneurship. The successful candidate would be involved in venture building programmes and operations of the innovation centre. The objective is to provide a continuum of support to result in globally investible startups.

Requirements:

1. Degree in life science, chemistry, or biotech.
2. At least 4 years of prior experience in operating a life science lab with compliance to safety and best practices, budgetary, and equipment maintenance. Candidates with extensive business centre management would be considered.
3. Preference would be given to candidates who have participated or engaged in deep-tech project teams and start-ups, or with innovation and venture building programmes.
4. Strong interpersonal skills to engage deep-tech innovation and enterprise ecosystem partners. This includes venture capitalists, trade associations, corporations, academic institutions, government agencies, and service providers.
5. Team player and ability to handle ambiguity in a dynamic landscape.
6. Excellent time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while being meticulous and organized.
7. A self-starter, independent and resourceful.

Key Results Area:

1. Operation readiness and uptime of the life science lab and centre.
2. Number of startups supported and time expedited to market with access to resources.
3. Contribute towards innovation and enterprise initiatives and programmes that enable deep-tech startups to have market entry and traction.
4. Tracking of programme and project status and generate reports, including budgetary control and commercialization outcomes.
