Job description

This role will collaborate with various departments to develop and implement risk management, compliance and ESG strategies, policies and initiatives, helping the Group to remain resilient and build a sustainable business.

Responsibilities:

Sustainability

  • Help develop, implement, and continuously improve sustainability policies and procedures, and conduct materiality assessments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement ESG initiatives that support the Group’s sustainability goals and improve resource efficiency.
  • Support reporting on sustainability/ESG matters to risk management committees, senior management, and the Board, including managing secretariat duties for sustainability committees and taskforces.
  • Oversee the production of sustainability reports, ensuring they are accurate, transparent, and compliant with reporting frameworks such as TCFD, GRI, and ISSB, including coordinating the external assurance process.
  • Identify and evaluate potential ESG risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for mitigation and improvement.
  • Monitor and report on the organization’s ESG performance to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, including managing ESG-related data and collaborating with departments to keep records accurate.

Risk Management

  • Support the implementation and enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management framework/processes to improve risk management capabilities and culture across different business units.
  • Assist in reporting risk-related matters to risk management committees, Senior Management, and the Board, including secretariat duties for these committees.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and update the risk register to effectively identify, track, monitor, and address inherent and residual risks.
  • Gather, analyze, and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) in collaboration with relevant departments to maintain accurate records.
  • Organise, and lead risk management training programs to raise risk awareness and improve skills, including workshops on risk and compliance assessment.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of new risk management tools and systems to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management processes.

Compliance

  • Provide advisory support to management and business units to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on market trends and regulatory compliance issues, including global developments that may impact business operations.
  • Assist in overseeing the Group’s Personal Data Protection function, including policy updates, staff training, and collaboration with the Digital Technology department to ensure data security and confidentiality.
  • Maintain and revise compliance and governance policies and procedures, such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption policies, and support other legal and compliance functions.
  • Conduct periodic compliance checks and assist in investigating and addressing compliance issues, including breaches of laws, regulations, policies, and contract management.
  • Coordinate and deliver governance and compliance-related training programs.

Others

  • Manage and support implementation of Group-wide new initiatives and projects.
  • Serve as liaison with internal auditors on risk management, compliance and ESG related matters.
  • Undertake any other tasks which may be assigned on ad-hoc basis.

Requirements:

  • Degree or professional qualification in relevant discipline (e.g Environmental Science, CPA, accountancy, sustainability).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Environmental Science, accounting, auditing, finance, risk management, compliance, ESG or sustainability reporting etc.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting and project management.
  • Self-driven and detail-oriented team player who is meticulous and organized.
  • Strong collaboration skills and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to interact well with different functions and levels.
  • Proficiency in relevant reporting software that facilitates data visualization and presentation, such as Tableau, or ERM/ESG-specific platforms will be highly beneficial.
