Assistant Manager, Finance
Job description
· To report monthly and yearly financial results
· To lead General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Asset accounting functions
· To manage compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., SFRS, Income Tax Act, Charities Act, Code of Corporate Governance).
- Ensure accurate submission of quarterly GST returns.
- Support submission of statistics/data to government bodies/statutory boards.
General Ledger Management:
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions (patient and non-patient revenue, expenses, grants, donations, assets).
- Review journal entries, accruals, and monthly reconciliations of key accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable (AR) and Donations:
- Oversee AR and donation functions.
- Ensure timely billing, collection, and reconciliation of non-patient revenues, subsidies, donations, grants, and fundraising income.
Fixed Assets Management:
- Oversee recognition, tracking, and management of fixed assets and related capital grants.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset register and proper classification and depreciation of assets.
Closing Processes:
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure timely reporting to senior management.
- Review and perform variance analysis on management reports.
Audit Coordination:
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors.
- Plan and lead audit process.
- Provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
Committee Support:
- Prepare and present quarterly financial results to the Audit Committee.
System Management:
- Ensure proper accounts and cost center setup in accounting systems.
- Involve in system enhancement/migration.
Process Improvement:
- Lead process improvement projects.
· Undertake any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or ACCA.
- 5 years of relevant working experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in non-profit or healthcare industry will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, Income Tax Act, and Charities Act.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word, Outlook, and Accounting software, preferably with SAP experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills to communicate across departments and senior management.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
