Assistant Manager (Festivals & Precinct Development)

The Festivals and Precinct Development (FPD) team is responsible for organising two annual signature community outreach events – the Singapore HeritageFest (SHF) and the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) – as well as managing the Bras Basah - Bugis (BBB) arts and heritage precinct. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team, focusing on project management and marketing for our festivals and placemaking initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management and Event Execution

  • Lead the planning and project management of placemaking activities and large-scale festivals
  • Oversee the curation, operational coordination, and execution of programmes, including liaison with external agencies, events and visitor management
  • Manage budgets, including the disbursement of funding to external partners
  • Prepare and assess vendor quotations and tenders, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures

2. Stakeholder Management and Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders within the BBB precinct and festival partners
  • Source new partnerships and sponsorships to enhance programme value
  • Engage and manage volunteers for various initiatives

3. Social Media and Digital Marketing

  • Develop and implement social media strategies for placemaking activities and signature festivals
  • Create and curate engaging content across various social media platforms
  • Analyse social media metrics and adjust strategies to optimise engagement and reach
  • Collaborate with marketing and public relations agencies to produce multi-format content for digital channels

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts Management, Events Management, Hospitality & Tourism, Marketing, Communications, History or related fields
  • 2 - 4 years of work experience, with a strong background in project management and social media marketing. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale events or festivals
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful social media campaigns with proficiency in social media analytics and marketing tools
  • Strong understanding of government procurement and finance procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written) is essential; proficiency in other local languages is an advantage
  • Interest and awareness of arts and heritage sectors in Singapore
