Roles & Responsibilities

  • Drive the annual renewal process for insurance policies, including engaging brokers and managing the end-to-end process of raising purchase orders and ensuring timely payments.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to continuously review and refine insurance coverage, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Manage insurance claims from registration to final settlement, including liaising with loss adjustors, insurers, and brokers, and reviewing claims reports for reasonableness.
  • Collaborate closely with business units to address claims and loss control issues promptly, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Review and advise on insurance clauses in tenders and contracts, providing expert recommendations to safeguard organisational interests.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, brokers, and insurers to manage insurance programmes effectively.
  • Deliver training and presentations to internal stakeholders on emerging insurance issues, updates, and best practices.
  • Leverage data analytics to uncover actionable insights and trends within the organisation and the broader insurance industry.
  • Maintain and refine existing workflows and processes to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with key developments in the insurance industry and provide advisory support to stakeholders on emerging trends and issues.

Skills & Requirements

  • Tertiary education, preferably with a degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • Must hold a Certificate of General Insurance (BCP, CommGI, PGI, HI) or other relevant insurance qualifications.
  • 1–3 years of experience, ideally in insurance broking or underwriting. Experience in placing insurance programmes or managing insurance claims is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills with the ability to take a holistic view of issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a collaborative and influential interpersonal style.
  • Resilient, adaptable to dynamic work environments, and highly detail-oriented with strong planning and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
