Job description

THIS IS A 2-YEARS RENEWABLE / CONVERTIBLE CONTRACT ROLE.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and supporting the implementation of initiatives to drive engagement to achieve brand awareness and visitorship targets for the Museum’s exhibitions, programmes and events.
  • Developing and building strong relationships with stakeholders, industry partners such as the Museum Roundtable and ICOM, and patrons.
  • Planning and supporting the execution of exhibitions, programmes, and events including tours, artist residencies, and school/corporate bookings centered around the Museum’s collections, exhibitions, and events for a wide range of audiences.
  • Enforcing and adhering to the Museum’s SOPs and best practices & procedures.
  • Producing detailed schedules that include staffing assignments and milestones for upcoming outreach and engagement initiatives.
  • Supporting the working relationship with facility management and other events and operational departments by maintaining a master museum calendar.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operational readiness of FOH and closing duties.
  • Planning and allocation of resources for marketing and communications needs for both print and digital efforts in collaboration with Marcom colleagues, as well as programmes and events.
  • Conducting on-ground evaluation and analyzing surveys from marketing efforts and programmes for insights.
  • Supervising advertisement productions when necessary.
  • Researching current trends on programming and events, and working collaboratively with colleagues on developing and implementing programmes, events, and relevant merchandise/gifts for the Museum.
  • Developing a wide range of audiences for the Museum and actively driving outreach in collaboration with Marcom colleagues.
  • Supporting the working relationship with external stakeholders and partners.
  • Supporting the operational readiness of venues for programmes and events such as obtaining necessary clearances and maintenance of site.
  • Developing and implementing a volunteer programme at the Museum for various volunteering opportunities with events/tours/programmes.
  • Managing social media pages of the museum and overall web presence.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement
• At least 10 years of direct experience working in events planning & operations / programming execution; some marketing/advertising experience will be an advantage.
• Diploma/Degree in Tourism, Events Management or equivalent.
• An interest and passion for Singapore history, museums, and the local creative arts scene.
• Self-directed learner and problem solver who can perform under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good time management skills.
• Cultural understanding and empathy for diverse communities.
• Availability to work on evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Team player.
• Certifications in First Aid/Bizsafe will be an advantage.
• Service-oriented and enjoy interacting with people.
• Shortlisted candidates must be comfortable working at the Singapore Air Force Museum located at Paya Lebar.
