To effectively supervise workers to deliver good results in case management, programmes, community outreach, respite carers recruitment and publicity including assist Director (Clinical Services) in the running of the operations of Sanctuary Care.
To supervise social workers and interns in carrying out SC tasks and services.
FUNCTIONAL
Conduct regular case discussions with social workers and regular supervision of their case management.
Spearhead case movement through regular team meetings, case review sessions, etc.
Identify at-risk situations, develop strategies and intervention plans to address child safety issues and wellbeing.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of case management and other support programmes and activities extended to respite carer families.
Develop relevant SOPs for the department.
Oversee the 24-hour hotline for respite carers per duty schedule and ensure that the team follows up on outcomes.
Supervise and support placements to prevent breakdowns in foster child’s existing care arrangements.
Coordinate and participate in road shows and other community outreach events as necessary.
Provide guidance for workers to conduct in-depth assessments and prepare Respite Care Assessment Reports (FAR), present findings at the Panel, and follow up on decisions and recommendations.
Conduct all necessary home visits, including announced and unannounced, to ensure that the placement safeguards and promotes child’s safety, stability, and wellbeing.
Meet regularly with the Director (Clinical Services) to assess case progress and programme outcomes/effectiveness and participate in audit processes.
Support and conduct research related to practice.
MANAGERIAL
Conduct weekly meetings to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Provide guidance and supervision for social workers and case workers, especially regarding practice issues.
Monitor caseloads and performance of social workers.
Vet reports and case notes.
Keep track of department KPIs and provide timely updates to management.
Oversee the annual audit of SOPs.
Lead panel meetings and case conferences.
Keep track of audit results and monitor the team’s ability to meet audit standards.
Ensure that all social workers submit accurate information on cases and that reports are submitted punctually to BT and other governing bodies such as MSF.
Investigate best practices and implement them within the department (i.e., PDPA, RMTF).
Liaise with key stakeholders or other relevant organizations.
Cover for the Director (Clinical Services) whenever necessary.
ORGANIZATIONAL
Participate actively in all fundraising activities as well as any other commitments that Boys’ Town undertakes.
Work in close collaboration with other staff, departments, and components of Boys’ Town.
The Executive Director and Head of Fostering may assign any other reasonable duties for the benefit of the clients and/or Boys’ Town.
Requirements
Executive functioning skills – planning, coordinating, organizing, implementing, and evaluating.
Social Work casework - Lead and conduct case assessments and risk assessments for complex cases with high risk by integrating a range of information independently.
Programme Development and Implementation - Manage and oversee the end-to-end development and delivery of programmes.
Professional leadership - Guide the delivery of social services by the team to ensure adherence to the Code of Ethics, Standard of Practice, governance, and agenda at the system level.
Mentoring and Coaching Skills.
Average Qualifications & years of relevant experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience, with 3 years in a supervisory position.
Experience in working with children/CYP and their families.
Bachelor of Social Work / Master's in Social Work.
