Assistant Lab Officer, Laboratory of Human Genomics (GIS)

Job Responsibilities (Training provided)

• Provide assistance and support to senior staff members in carrying out research activities.
• Stock management of consumables and reagents in the laboratory including purchasing of supplies.
• Liaise with vendors for the maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment when necessary.
• Local travel for sample collection/delivery.
• General administrative and secretarial duties e.g. shipping of samples.
• Ensure the general upkeep and smooth functioning of the laboratory.
• Perform hands-on experiments and operations in standard laboratory settings.
• Learn all the techniques of handling high molecular gDNA and dealing with different quantitation methods.
• Learn the basics of aseptic technique, working in a tissue culture environment.
• Perform short reads capture library preparation.
• Work on genotyping and quantification qPCR.

Requirements

• With/No experience are welcomed.
• With Diploma in science field.
