Your day to day

voco Orchard Singapore is seeking a dynamic and passionate Assistant Housekeeper to be part of this exciting rebranding project. As Assistant Housekeeper, you will work closely with the Executive Housekeeper and Housekeeping Manager in ensuring a smooth operation. You are expected to liaise closely with related departments, in ensuring a well maintained hotel.

Responsibilities

  1. Works with the Executive Housekeeper to ensure the smooth operation of the housekeeping department.
  2. Prepare work assignments for Housekeeping Attendants.
  3. Conduct shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
  4. Establish standards and procedures for work of housekeeping associates.
  5. Supervise, train and retrain Housekeeping Supervisors, Housekeeping Attendants, Linen Attendant and Housemen.
  6. Conduct training and on-the-job training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
  7. Lead and manage special projects or tasks assigned by superior, including deep cleaning tasks and special projects.
  8. Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
  9. Control expenses and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
  10. Monitor colleague performance and recommend appropriate action in accordance with company rules and policies.
  11. Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties.
  12. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  13. Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
  14. Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.
  15. Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements.
  16. May assist with other duties as assigned.
What we need from you
  1. At least 2 to 3 years working experience in a similar role within the hotel industry.
  2. Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent.
  3. Able to converse in English.
  4. Able to perform shift work, weekends, and holidays where required.
  5. Experience with HotSOS and Opera Property Management System will be an added advantage.
