Job description

We are a global logistics MNC looking for candidates to join our Singapore team.

Involves supporting the finance department in managing the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    • Assist in preparing financial reports, statements, and analysis to ensure accuracy.
    • Conduct variance analysis by comparing budgeted figures to actual outcomes.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering relevant data and projections.
    • Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment on budget goals and financial plans.
  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:
    • Oversee processing of invoices, receipts, and payments.
    • Ensure timely collections and payments, and monitor accounts to reduce aging issues.
    • Assist in managing the company’s credit policies and terms.
  4. Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor and forecast cash flows to meet operational and financial obligations.
    • Prepare cash flow reports to keep senior management informed.
  5. Financial Compliance and Internal Controls:
    • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
    • Assist in maintaining internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and financial integrity.
    • Coordinate audits and support the external auditors by providing necessary documentation.
  6. Taxation and Compliance:
    • Prepare necessary documentation for tax filings and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, both local and international if applicable.
  7. Team Supervision and Development:
    • Assist in leading and mentoring junior finance staff, ensuring they understand and meet their responsibilities.
    • Provide training on financial processes and support team development.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are often advantageous.
  2. Technical Skills: Must have external audit experiences previously in either the Big 4 or Mid-Size audit firm. Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems like SAP will be advantageous).
  3. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex data, perform detailed financial analysis, and offer insights.
  4. Attention to Detail: Precision in managing numbers and accuracy in reporting.
  5. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  6. Time Management: Ability to manage deadlines, especially during closing periods and reporting cycles.

This position provides critical support to the Finance Head and is a key contributor to the financial health and strategy of the organization.
