Job description

The Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) oversees the development of core research capabilities within A*STAR research units, and actively promotes translational medicine and cross-disciplinary research, and human capital development in the area of health and biomedical sciences.

We are looking for a passionate individual to join us in developing a strategic partnership with a leading public healthcare cluster in Singapore. You will have the exciting opportunity to deep dive into clinical challenges in patient care and healthcare operations, identify technologies to address the challenges and provide thought leadership in the development of new R&D strategies. You will work closely with A*STAR research units, public health institutions and industry players to drive the translation of research and innovation to clinical implementation and healthcare delivery, as well as economic value capture.

You should have a strong drive and impact-oriented mindset to ensure investments in R&D activities deliver good economic, health and societal outcomes for Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the public healthcare cluster and its entities to establish a strategic partnership for research translation in areas such as precision medicine, medical devices, data science, AI, digital health, and hospital operations.
  • Lead and facilitate engagements, such as workshops between clinicians and researchers on knowledge sharing and project development.
  • Manage the operations of a joint programme office as part of a joint team, including the management of a joint budget and the organisation of joint grant calls and associated proposal evaluation and selection processes.
  • Oversee projects funded under the joint programme office.
  • Perform various administrative duties, such as management reporting, organizing regular joint management meetings, preparing presentation materials, taking minutes, and conducting follow-ups.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or any other disciplines relating to Biomedical or Data Sciences.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in either research, clinical or business roles related to the above discipline.
  • Knowledge and competence in the field of data-driven innovation (e.g. Biomedical AI, Digital Health), medical technologies and precision medicine would be advantageous.
  • Able to work independently and a strong team player.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Meticulous, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and able to multi-task.
  • Values integrity, teamwork and excellence.
