Job description

You will be a part of HPB’s Regional Health Systems and Community Engagement department which strives to advance health promotion efforts in the Community setting to reduce Singapore’s burden of diseases.

As a key member of Regional Health and Community Systems Outreach team, you will:

  • Support the department’s HOD in the design, development, execution, and monitoring and evaluation of community health promotion programmes, policies and processes, in driving health promotion efforts among relevant community partners in Singapore.
  • Identify new growth areas to achieve better outcomes for hard to reach target segments by providing guidance and directions to the team to identify trends, needs and gaps, use ground insights to inform and influence HPB programme teams to deliver attractive value propositions.
  • Leverage on the synergies across the government agencies to integrate health promotion into the relevant initiatives for targeted segments.
  • Monitor the department’s operating budget and indicators to ensure and steward efficient use of public funds.
  • Review and improve systems and processes to achieve HPB’s goals and drive efficiency.
  • Guide and mentor your team to unveil and meet their professional aspirations.

What an ideal candidate looks like

An ideal candidate will be a dynamic, driven and self-motivated individual with at least 5 years of relevant working experience in strategic planning, and partnership and account management (preferably at a middle management level) in public health, health management, health sciences, health promotion/education, and/or community outreach/engagement (good community network), and possesses:

  • Experience in leading teams in managing successful large projects, client account management and partnership management.
  • A proven track record in successfully developing, implementing and executing partnership initiatives, with an understanding of the underlying economics of achieving win-win resolutions or agreements.
  • Ability to present complex concepts in a clear and relevant manner to the target audience.
  • Effective communication (verbal & written), presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning, analytical skills.
  • Strategic and critical thinking.
  • Strong collaborative and partnership building skills.
  • Prior experience in managing portfolios within the public sector, and data analytics will be an advantage.

The individual should also be able to:

  • Adapt and independently navigate through new situations and challenges.
  • Be confident in working with both public and corporate partners.
  • Multi-task, handle stressful situations and tight deadlines.
  • Motivate and guide your team and demonstrate strong teamwork.
  • Work well in matrix and highly dynamic teams.
