Job description

The Assistant Director of HR leads the Human Resources function for Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore and Laguna National Golf Resort Club, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role reports to the General Managers of both properties and maintains a functional reporting relationship with the Group Director of Human Resources. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of HR, such as talent acquisition, employee relations, training, compensation, compliance, and workforce planning.

You should be a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You must demonstrate integrity, discretion, professionalism, and a passion for people development while fostering an inclusive workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HR Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization’s goals, ensuring the talent attraction, development, and retention of team members. Partner with senior leadership to enhance team engagement and drive performance.
  2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Oversee recruitment processes, ensuring a strong talent pipeline. Collaborate with department heads to understand hiring needs and succession planning. Implement effective onboarding programs to integrate new hires successfully.
  3. Employee Relations & Engagement: Promote a positive work culture by fostering open communication and resolving workplace issues. Develop engagement programs that enhance employee motivation, satisfaction, retention, and improve employer branding.
  4. Performance Management & Training: Implement and oversee performance appraisal systems, ensuring constructive feedback and career growth opportunities. Design and facilitate training programs that enhance employee skills, leadership development, and compliance awareness.
  5. Compensation & Benefits: Manage salary structures, employee benefits, and incentive programs. Ensure that compensation practices are competitive, fair, and compliant with local employment law and regulations.
  6. Compliance & Policy Development: Ensure HR policies and procedures align with employment laws and industry standards. Handle workplace investigations and disciplinary actions, ensuring consistency and fairness. Maintain HR records and documentation in accordance with regulations.
  7. HR Operations & Administration: Oversee HR operations, HR systems management, and maintaining personnel records. Continuously improve HR processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  3. Experience in the hospitality industry is highly preferred.
  4. Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Proficiency in HR systems (InfoTech, Timesoft, BIPO) and Microsoft Office Suite.
