The Nanyang EMBA Programme is managed by the ASEAN & China Programmes Office at Nanyang Business School. The Assistant Director, EMBA Chinese Programme is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management of the programme, overseeing marketing, recruitment, admissions, operations, and student experience through to graduation. Leading the Marketing, Recruitment, and Admissions team, the incumbent will develop and execute strategic initiatives to attract top-tier Chinese entrepreneurs and senior executives in Singapore and the region. Additionally, this role ensures seamless programme delivery and operations, enhancing the overall student learning experience from enrolment to graduation. Working closely with the programme academic director, the Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in maintaining the programme's excellence, fostering a strong alumni network, and reinforcing NTU's position as a global leader in executive education.


Key responsibilities include but not limited to the following:


Marketing and Branding
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to position the EMBA Chinese Programme as a premier choice for Chinese entrepreneurs and senior executives worldwide.
  • Oversee branding efforts, digital campaigns, and content development to enhance programme visibility.
  • Lead the planning and execution of high-profile marketing events, roadshows, and information sessions in key markets.
  • Collaborate with the internal stakeholders and external agencies to maximize outreach and campaign effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Marketing, Recruitment and Admission team, ensuring strong execution and alignment with programme goals.

Student Recruitment and Admissions
  • Define and implement recruitment strategies to attract high-caliber Chinese business leaders and professionals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate partners, alumni, and industry leaders, to generate referrals.
  • Oversee the admissions process, including application screening, candidate interviews, and selection.
  • Provide personalized engagement and advisory to prospective students to enhance conversion rates.
  • Monitor and analyze recruitment data to refine strategies and improve conversion rates.
  • Work closely with programme academic director and team members to align recruitment efforts with academic and institutional goals, and ensure compliance with university regulations and policies.

Programme Operations and Student Experience
  • Oversee the end-to-end student journey, ensuring a seamless experience from onboarding to graduation.
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of academic and executive learning experiences, working closely with faculty and the programme team members.
  • Enhance student engagement through networking sessions, company visits, and executive learning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Operations Team to ensure efficient daily operations and ensure compliance with accreditation standards and university policies.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with faculty, corporate partners, alumni, and school leadership to enhance programme value.
  • Establish partnerships with businesses, government agencies, and industry associations to create networking and career development opportunities for students.
  • Represent the programme at industry forums, conferences, and executive education platforms to strengthen programme reputation.
  • Guide the Marketing, Recruitment, and Admissions team in maintaining strong engagement with prospective students and external stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement and Strategic Development
  • Monitor market trends, competitor programmes, and industry needs to refine and enhance programme offerings.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to improve marketing, recruitment, and programme delivery strategies.
  • Identify and implement innovative learning solutions and digital transformation initiatives for the EMBA Chinese Programme.
  • Provide regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Mentor and develop the team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team culture.

Key competencies and qualification requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree, a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in programme management, business development or executive education in higher education or a related field. At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing marketing, recruitment, admissions, or programme operations.
  • Experience working in or with Chinese-speaking markets is essential.
  • Strong track record in student recruitment and executive education programme management, particularly targeting senior executives or Chinese-speaking markets.
  • Good understanding of the Chinese business landscape, including key markets like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
  • Familiarity with market trends in executive education, leadership development, and internationalization.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a high-performing team across marketing, recruitment, admissions, and operations.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills, particularly in engaging with Chinese-speaking executives.
  • Ability to interact with senior business leaders, government officials, and academic faculty with confidence and professionalism.
  • Analytical and thorough in his/her thought-process.
  • Good team-player and able to work independently.
  • A pleasant disposition and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions.
