Assistant Director, Group Facilities Development

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Maintain a cluster project dashboard on the portfolio of projects to monitor and co-ordinate infrastructure development activities for timely execution/handover of projects.
• Develop project governance policies and processes to enable consistency in the delivery of infrastructure projects in the cluster.
• Develop technical standards for projects in the cluster and ensure standardisation and alignment with overall hospitals infrastructure and design in the projects.
• Represent the department and work closely with Chief Operating Officers and Head of Departments and provide subject matter advice on Facilities Development matters.
• Oversee a team of Project Managers in the procurement, evaluation and appointment of consultants and contractors to ensure quality performance and contract management of projects.
• Finalise contracts and ensure proper closure of project accounts.
• Lead and/or oversee project workgroup meetings, site meetings, management updates, and taskforce for departments initiatives.
• Ensure optimisation of manpower resources and plan for staff development and overall team competencies.
• Lead and execute Special Projects or tasks as directed, including support to the committees and sub-boards.
• Ad-hoc duties and projects in support of departments mission e.g. improvement initiatives, review of SOP, provide coverage for RO.

Requirements

• Degree in Architecture, Building, Engineering, Project Management or equivalent
• At least 12 years of relevant experience, with proven track record in public sector or healthcare infrastructure projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Resourceful, self-motivated, driven with the ability to multi-task
• Team player with good interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage ambiguities in the course of work
