Job description

We are looking for an Assistant Director/Director of Human Resources who will be responsible for providing guidance and support for the accomplishment of goals and objectives by recruiting, developing, motivating and maintaining a competent work force for JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La.

As an Assistant Director/Director of Human Resources, We Rely On You To

  • Provide a full spectrum of professional human resources services including compensation and benefits, recruitment & selection, performance management, staff movement and relations
  • Support HR Leadership and the COEs on the execution of HR programs, policies and initiatives as required
  • Formulate and execute HR policies in alignment with the corporate governance and departmental KPIs and ensure the policies and practices are strictly in place and delivered
  • Collaborates with the business to oversee the annual budget and headcount management process, including coordination and reporting
  • Provides coaching on people-related matters, including employment issues and workplace safety, to ensure a clear understanding of workforce management principles and employment-related regulations
  • Cultivate a highly engaging culture by motivating employees and fostering an environment of teamwork, accountability, clear communication, and shared vision
  • Develop and implement hotel-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property associates
  • Undertake any other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
  • Has a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
  • Possesses good knowledge of local labor laws and industrial relations
  • Can build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates excellent coaching, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to engage with individuals at all levels
  • Is a proactive self-starter who can problem-solve, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive initiatives forward
