Assistant Commissioner, Case Resolution

Key Responsibilities

1. You will be responsible to lead the team and drive the following workstream to help resolve the cases that are brought to the agency’s attention:
2. Manage an Operations team to proactively evaluate and respond to stakeholders reports and public feedback on online content, ensuring a dynamic and adaptive online safety approach.
3. Conduct thorough and balanced assessments on potentially harmful online material, taking swift and decisive action to address them.
4. Ensuring smooth operations, and managing the overall workflow, including issuance and compliance of directions, ensuring modalities and data are up to date.
5. Undertake multiple stakeholder negotiations with Industry and coordination with Whole of Government in relation to victim relief against online harmful material.

Job Requirements

1. At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a technology policy or operations related role in the private or public sectors. Job grade will be based on duration and level of relevant work experience.
2. Experience in an Operations role, Public Policy, Online Content Regulation, Online Trust and Safety space would be advantageous.
3. Strong interest in online safety, and good knowledge of how online platforms operate, including social media services and app stores.
4. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.

Position will be commensurate with experience.
