The Café Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the café's operations, including staffing, customer service, inventory management, financial oversight, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for coffee and food, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Staff Management:
    • Hire, train, and supervise café staff, including baristas, kitchen staff, and servers.
    • Schedule shifts and manage staff workloads to ensure proper coverage.
    • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
    • Handle conflict resolution and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
  2. Customer Service:
    • Ensure exceptional customer service by overseeing the café environment and addressing customer concerns.
    • Promote a welcoming atmosphere and encourage customer loyalty.
    • Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
  3. Operations Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of the café, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Manage café inventory, including ordering and tracking supplies (e.g., coffee, pastries, cleaning supplies).
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
    • Oversee equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
  4. Financial Management:
    • Prepare and manage the café’s budget, including monitoring expenses and maximizing profitability.
    • Track daily sales, handle cash flow, and oversee the cash register operations.
    • Analyze sales trends and implement strategies to increase revenue.
    • Ensure accurate reporting of financial data.
  5. Marketing & Promotions:
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the café and increase customer engagement.
    • Plan special events, promotions, or seasonal menu changes.
    • Monitor and maintain the café’s online presence, including social media and reviews.
  6. Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure the café complies with all local health and safety regulations.
    • Maintain food safety standards and cleanliness throughout the café.
    • Oversee the safe operation of all kitchen equipment and ensure staff are trained in proper safety protocols.
