The Café Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the café's operations, including staffing, customer service, inventory management, financial oversight, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for coffee and food, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and supervise café staff, including baristas, kitchen staff, and servers.
- Schedule shifts and manage staff workloads to ensure proper coverage.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Handle conflict resolution and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure exceptional customer service by overseeing the café environment and addressing customer concerns.
- Promote a welcoming atmosphere and encourage customer loyalty.
- Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
- Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the café, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Manage café inventory, including ordering and tracking supplies (e.g., coffee, pastries, cleaning supplies).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the café’s budget, including monitoring expenses and maximizing profitability.
- Track daily sales, handle cash flow, and oversee the cash register operations.
- Analyze sales trends and implement strategies to increase revenue.
- Ensure accurate reporting of financial data.
- Marketing & Promotions:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the café and increase customer engagement.
- Plan special events, promotions, or seasonal menu changes.
- Monitor and maintain the café’s online presence, including social media and reviews.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure the café complies with all local health and safety regulations.
- Maintain food safety standards and cleanliness throughout the café.
- Oversee the safe operation of all kitchen equipment and ensure staff are trained in proper safety protocols.
