Job Description

  • Reporting to the Resident Architect (RA) on site, you will supervise and inspect architectural works on-site including any off-site manufacturing works as instructed by the Resident Engineer/ Architect to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant regulations.
  • To ensure the building and related works are constructed as per Contract Documents and Site Instructions.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project progress.
  • Monitor construction activities on site and at any off-site manufacturing facilities to ensure adherence to project schedules and budget constraints, reporting any deviations or delays to the Resident Architect / PM.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections to identify defects, deviations, and non-compliance issues, and provide timely recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements related to architectural works.
  • To inspect and take/hand over completed works.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities and obtain necessary permits, approvals, and certifications for architectural works.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of all Architectural site works and activities, including daily reports, inspection reports, variation works measurement records, tests, inspections, status of works, safety and site diary, material and equipment on site, labour headcount, day works, provisional quantities and correspondence with stakeholders.
  • To keep accurate updated records of all variation works as instructed or approved by the Site Superintending Officer (SO).
  • To assist in verification of all reports and claims submitted by the contractor and offer collaboration advice and support to the site Quantity Surveyors.
  • To ensure all temporary and false works are constructed as per the Professional Engineers design for temporary works.
  • To maintain and verify the site supervisors overtime claims.
  • Participate in meetings, progress reviews, and coordination sessions to address technical matters and ensure effective communication among project team members.
  • To assist the Resident Architect/PM in liaising with Public and Government Authorities and Statutory Boards in relation to the project Architectural works.
  • To collaborate with the site HSE team and report on the compliance with / deviations of Site Housekeeping and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) status with the requirements of MOM regulations.
  • To check and enforce that the contractor complies strictly to Airport Operational and Safety Requirements (AOS) on all construction works carried out within the airport boundaries or as instructed by the SO.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and excellence.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to architectural construction.
  • To undertake any other duties related to the project as and when instructed by the SO/Project Manager through the Resident Engineer or Architect.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Architectural from a recognized institution
  • Registered with IES/ ACES as a Resident Technical Officer
  • Minimum 5 years of architectural supervision work experience with strong knowledge of local construction practices
