Job Description

1. Meeting with clients and other involved professionals at an early stage to agree on the project brief;
2. Developing project briefs and working on these as the project progresses;
3. Preparing design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) and traditional drawing methods;
4. Contributing to planning applications and other regulatory application procedures;
5. Understanding how the design aspects of a construction project influence and relate to performance and functional issues, so that practical questions can be addressed at an early stage;
6. Following up with the detailed design process and co-ordinating design information;
7. Liaising with appropriate authorities (e.g. Planning enquiries and technical officers) to obtain statutory approval;
8. Co-ordinating and liaising with the various consultants on the project team;
9. Advising clients on procuring the best and most appropriate contracts for the work they are undertaking;
10. Leading the preparation of tender documentation and construction drawings;
11. Assisting in administering contracts and project certifications;
12. Obtaining feedback on work in progress and finished results from clients;
13. Making site visits to check on progress and ensuring that the project is running within the agreed timescale;
14. Solving problems that might occur during building/construction stage;
15. Carrying out defect inspections;
16. Managing the work of junior staff/direct reports.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years experience in the architectural industry in Singapore or Malaysia
2. Able to work within a team and in a fast-paced environment;
3. Familiar with building regulations (Singapore or Malaysia);
4. Strong Portfolio;
5. Good working attitude, proactive and conscientious.
