Application Software Engineer (Japanese Speaking)-12 months contract

COMPANY OVERVIEW
My client is a Japanese IT system integrator focusing on the banking industry.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct day-to-day Level 2 (L2) support for banking application software. Collaborate with the outsourcing vendor, the bank's IT department, and, if necessary, the counterparty at the Head Office to find recovery solutions for errors detected by the bank's operations department (Level 1 support). Overtime may be required if issues occur outside business hours.
2. Lead projects related to change requests from users or End of Life (EOL) issues such as operating systems, database management software, and hardware. Manage these projects effectively.
3. Manage team members, vendors, and service providers. Develop project schedules and ensure all tasks are completed as required and planned.
4. Oversee project execution by resolving issues, controlling vendors and resources, managing schedules, and preparing reports for management, the bank, and the Head Office for approval if needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. At least 3 years of experience as an Application Software Engineer in the banking IT sector.
2. Diploma or Degree in IT.
3. Experience in application development within the banking IT sector, focusing on high-level robustness in applications (Core banking, loans, and market systems etc).
4. Proficiency in programming languages (Java/Shell etc), RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server etc), and OS (Windows/Linux).
5. Japanese language skills (reading/writing) are necessary, as applications are linked with systems in Japan. The development and maintenance of these projects require close collaboration with Japanese development teams and members, primarily through email.
