Application Modernization Partner Solution Architect,

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers and partners including public sector.
Amazon Web Services is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for a world class candidate for the role of Sr. Partner Solutions Architect, Application Modernization. As a Partner SA and application modernization technology domain expert, you will work with partners to modernize customer’s application workloads from legacy applications to modern cloud native services like containers, serverless. As a partner Solutions Architect you’ll help build an ecosystem of partners for our application modernization services. This involves engaging with consulting and technology partners and their customers to integrate AWS services like Containers, serverless into their solutions and practices. In this hands-on technical specialist role, you will enable our partners to understand the best practices on application modernization, design the most suitable application architectures in different scenarios so they can deliver these solutions to customers. You will work in close collaboration with our partner management teams to help partners build and upskill on AWS application modernization services and choose AWS as their preferred platform for customer implementations. Shaping and delivering a strategy to accelerate use of AWS services in partner solutions, including Containers and Serverless is a key part of the role.

You will own the technical engagement with partners and their ultimate success. This includes solution design and architecture review to support customer opportunities and project implementations, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies. In this role, you will be highly collaborative working across a broad set of teams and managing stakeholders. You will act as voice of partners internally with AWS services and Global COE teams.

Key job responsibilities
. Engage C-level business and technical executives of partners and customers of all sizes and demonstrate the value proposition of AWS application modernization services
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure modern applications are designed for successful deployment in the AWS cloud.
• Dive deep with partners to build technical capabilities through 1:1 and 1-to-many training sessions on various AWS application modernization services & solutions to build their application modernization practices on AWS
• Be the thought leader on AWS application modernization services and present in various forums on application modernization and building cloud native applications.
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, blogs.
• Nurture relationships with partners, enabling them to drive customer success leveraging AWS application modernization services.
• Act as a technical liaison between service engineering team, account teams and our partner community

Basic qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as Solutions Architect, Cloud Architect, Technical Consultant, Software Architect, Software Engineering Lead.
• 5+ years of application design and development experience, application development and DevOps practices within an enterprise, customer-facing roles or within a leading consulting company or systems integrator.
• 5+ years hands on experience developing, managing or working with Containers, Serverless, and integration services technologies such as: ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, MQ, and/or Step Functions
• 5+ years of working with large-scale container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, OpenShift, etc in production environments.
• Knowledge of IP networking, firewall and VPN architectures, service mesh, DNS, and service delivery through load balancing techniques.
• Effective collaboration skills with the ability to interact and influence CxO level executives

Preferred qualifications

• Effective verbal, written communications skills, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large-scale Serverless or Containers delivery projects (either on premises or in the cloud) and/or experience in the industry as a leader in the fields of application development, agile delivery and DevOps.
• AWS implementation or consulting experience with hands on experience working with event-driven or microservices architectures.
• AWS Professional Certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional) or other industry certification.
• Proficient in several popular scripting or programming skills in any of the following popular languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, Bash/Shell/PowerShell, .NET, Go, Ruby, etc.
