JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking an Associate to be part of the Asia Pacific Regulatory Reporting team that partners with the Asia Pacific Senior Financial Officer, Legal Entity Controller and Corporate Technology teams to contribute to automate the Asia Pacific local regulatory reporting systems and BASEL last mile reporting.
As a Business Analyst within the Asia Pacific Regulatory Reporting team, you will be responsible for taking part in different initiatives to automate regulatory changes triggered by Asia Pacific regulators for local regulatory or BASEL reporting. The demands include business expansion, general ledger optimization, technology modernization and global alignment in data sourcing and consumption.
Job responsibilities
- Partner closely with Finance users, Corporate Technology and external vendor consultants to deliver strategic regulatory reporting solutions which suit the defined operating model for Finance users.
- Provide Project Management Office support to these programs. Create and deliver project communications to multiple stakeholders, which includes running governance calls and preparing presentation materials/decks for committee meetings.
- Provide subject matter expert support in preparing business requirements and functional specifications for regulatory automation projects. Perform Product Validation/Proof of Concept, in partnership with Finance users, Corporate Technology and external vendors.
- Be a product owner, work closely with Corporate Technology-scrum master and teams, participate in design/build discussions.
- Develop testing approach, scope and plan. Execute system tests by leveraging an automated tool to prepare test cases, build expected results and run end to end tests.
- Identify areas of improvement, best practices in processes, brainstorm and propose solutions to address project or test issues and concerns in timely manner.
- Manage ongoing tactical and strategic finance platform enhancements and automation.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with 1 year in the banking industry.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Finance/Product Controller/Business Analyst/Product Owner with regulatory reporting solution implementation.
- Strong in data analysis with the ability to gather and validate facts, define gaps, perform impact analyses, draft business requirements, translate and streamline complex business requirements into functional specifications for technology builds.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills with strong interest to analyze large volume of data sets and present conclusions concisely.
- Highly-motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, demonstrates excellent time management and planning skills, and possesses the ability to handle multiple assignments at the same time.
- Positive attitude and easy to work with while delivering on high priority and time sensitive initiatives. Highly inquisitive, solution-focused, enthusiastic, diligent, and capable of challenging status-quo.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Knowledge and experience of industry leading regulatory reporting vendor application e.g., Adenza (Axiom), WKFS, Reveleus and ledger and system upgrade/implementation.
- Ability to use Confluence/Jira/Tableau/Alteryx/UiPath/Excel macro or any digital accelerator tools to support project deliverables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read Chinese and converse in Mandarin to read documents in Chinese and partner with teams and liaise with stakeholders from China.
