Job description

Purpose of the role

As Procurement Analyst, you will be working closely with Regional Procurement Category Lead and Head of Procurement Team by contributing to the end-to-end Category management and strategy development, including sourcing execution, contract negotiation, as well as supplier management processes. Your role is pivotal in identifying and realizing cost saving initiatives that deliver real business value in the category across all MUFG's business units.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Support the implementation in regional category sourcing strategies with regional category leads for assigned categories of products and services, several which are complex and of strategic importance, high value and critical to the success of the business.
  2. Drive to have analytics to enable effective procurement strategies to measure and improve supplier performance against key business objectives while reducing costs and increasing value.
  3. Ensure and support documentation and update of related process and policy, working with Finance, Legal, Procurement, support criteria for new supplier evaluation and qualification.
  4. Support the business partners are aware of procurement standards and processes.
  5. Utilize and support procurement processes (category strategy, RFP, SRM, compliance, etc.).
  6. Support and drive sourcing activities through the utilization of applicable corporate policies.
  7. Execute and support cost saving initiatives that deliver value in the indirect Procurement of goods and services.
  8. Support new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
  9. Stay abreast of commodity prices that are significant drivers in the cost of products and the impact that commodity cost changes have on unit cost.
  10. Support and prepare periodic reports on indirect Procurement activities.

Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, business administration, or accounting.
  2. Minimum three years' of experience in procurement/category management/sourcing.
  3. Experience in Procurement system - Zycus, Ariba, Coupa.
  4. Has handled high volumes of spot-buy, ITQs, RFQs.
  5. MS office suite, specifically MS excel, word and PowerPoint.
  6. Ability to plan and prioritize work independently.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication (written, verbal).
