Analyst (Information)*

You conduct research and provide timely analysis of the information environment, with a focus on defence, security developments, and socio-economic issues. On this, you conduct information network analysis and study the resonance of narratives in the information environment to support the understanding of audience groups and terrain folders. You also liaise with various stakeholders on the collection requirements, planning, and execution of collection plans. In addition, you work with various entities in supporting capability development. Your challenges lie in embracing the steep learning curve while providing accurate, relevant, and timely products, and quickly making sense of ongoing developments and conversations in the information environment.

Qualifications:

1. You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Mass Communications or Social sciences (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Psychology, Economics).
2. Good analytical skills and writing ability are essential.
3. Having a good awareness of Singapore’s political, defence, and security developments, as well as current affairs is required.
4. Having an acute awareness of the regional and international media environment, and how it can be leveraged to benefit MINDEF/SAF and its interests is also beneficial.
5. Proficiency in a vernacular language is advantageous.
