Summary
Reporting to the Malaysia Cluster General Manager, the Singapore General Manager leads the Singapore agency team and manages resources of the different functions to expand the scope of business, identify new opportunities for growth of the organization, as well as guarantee the best level of service quality for customers.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage and develop all aspects of the agency, including commercial, financial, logistics and operational activities.
  2. Strengthen the market share for the Group and monitor/optimize operating costs.
  3. Promote group image in the country.
  4. Guarantee the best level of service quality for customers, the optimal equipment rotation and the optimization of the port terminal services.
  5. Build a constructive and excellent business relationship with all stakeholders (Principals, Terminals, customers, subordinates, other department staff, Management, suppliers & other parties) in order to meet the company’s objectives.
  6. Increase efficiency in order to realize cost savings and other new initiatives, lead and manage new projects and drive transformation processes forward.
  7. Ensure unity and development of the agency by standardizing the control activities and guaranteeing the whole budget, KPIs and performance of the agency. Set all the objectives to achieve, together with Cluster General Manager and ARO / HO management.
  8. Maintain the agency scorecard and monitor performance, developing interventions where necessary for positive growth.
  9. Ensure implementation of reporting tools and proper application of procedures according to the needs and rules of the Group, whilst maintaining frequent and regular relationships with stakeholders in ARO and HO.
  10. Be the driving force and leader to the staff in the agency, ensuring their motivation and ability to manage their roles successfully to guide/coach/motivate them to meet the company's expected level of performance.

Requirements

  1. Mandatory to have comprehensive knowledge and shipping experience (at least 10 to 15 years in the industry).
  2. Strong leadership skills with ability to drive performance.
  3. Able to work very independently, under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  4. Good communication skills – written and verbal. You are ready to evolve in a demanding foreign environment. You have a strong ability to adapt.
