The Seagate Design Engineering group comprises teams across functional groups of ARS, Electrical Integration, Servo, Mechanical, Test Process, and Firmware. The Advanced Recording sub-system, or ARS in short, is a highly bonded group that consists of specialists in various sub-groups of HDE (Head Disk Electrical), HDM (Head Disk Mechanical) & Channel preamp.
As an Advanced Recording Engineering intern with the ARS-HDE team, you will be involved and responsible for the future of hard disk drive product development to advance & support the fast-growing enormous data needs of the future. You will gain hands-on experience in:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
Highly organized, meticulous, and results-driven, able to manage multiple priorities.
Adaptable and self-motivated, with a keen ability to work both independently and within a team.
Strong foundation in basic physics and electrical engineering.
Able to commit to a full-time semester internship (Jan to May).
Pursuing a degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
Knowledge of test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, waveform generators).
Familiarity with magnetic recording components or communication systems is advantageous.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, or C is an advantage.
Knowledge of neural networks or other machine learning techniques is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
